In LAGA Teach, we help you organize your musical skills and knowledge in order to develop a personalized and meaningful approach to teaching the guitar. We work with you every step of the way, both by e-mail and live, one-on-one video conferencing.

LAGA Teach has three phases:

 

Review and be able to demonstrate basic skill sets. You may need to spend a little time with the material. If you are primarily a pop/ rock player, you may need to work on fingerstyle and basic music reading. If you are primarily a classical player, you may need to spend some time with the plectrum (pick). We prepare you to be marketable to both beginning and intermediate students of any style. We will address more advanced teaching concepts pertaining to your primary playing style through private consultation. The areas of proficiency are basic technique, fingerboard theory, reading, accompaniment, and specific techniques.

In this phase you will be reviewing our approach to teaching, classical, flamenco, pop, finger board theory, and children. We will work privately with you to help you design a personalized program of study for your students. This phase in divided into five stages: 

Stage 1: Understand basic skill set sequencing (when to introduce new concepts).

Stage 2: Creating Supplementary Material

Stage 3: Lesson Planning

Stage 4: Organize a basic 20 week course of study for your students of classical, flamenco, pop, and children’s guitar.

Stage 5: Assessment Strategies  

 

In this phase, you will be exploring new research in the field of learning theory. This includes reviewing studies on learning styles, brain based learning, practicing, note reading, improvisation and body learning.
